Abstract
Examines a heuristic algorithm which guarantees reciprocity in the cross-section equations when the phase perturbation approximation is used. The results obtained using a Gaussian surface roughness spectrum are superior to those of either the phase perturbation or the reversed phase perturbation method and agree well with the exact results obtained using a Monte Carlo integral equation technique
