  • Abstract
Magnetostatic modes have been observed on reduced Ca-doped YIG thin films of thickness 16 μm, in which the Fe4+ion, a fast relaxer, was converted into the Fe3+ion by introducing oxygen vacancies. The spectra can be well explained by the Damon-Eshbach theory. A magnetic field gap found between the surface exitations can be explained by an easy-plane uniaxial anisotropy energy developed during the reduction process. This field gap has also been studied as a function of temperature.
