Magnetic susceptibility measurements on fission product insolubles

The magnetic susceptibilities at room temperature of some samples of insoluble fission products and of some simulated fission products are reported. These results are discussed in the context of the use of High Gradient Magnetic Separation for the removal of fission product solids from nuclear reprocessing streams. Susceptibility results for possible stand-in materials for development tests are also discussed.
