Abstract :
Four different strontium ferrite powders were prepared and oriented with magnetic-field-free technique. Studies were made on the following two points by residual induction measurements parallel and perpendicular to the preferred direction; (1) the effect of the content of organic binder on the degree of orientation in a green compact, (2) the changes of this degree occuring upon sintering. It has been found that there is an optimum content to obtain well-oriented texture, and the amount of enhancement in the orientation induced by sintering increases with the rise of the initial orientation in the green compact. Energy products as high as 4.1 MGOe, with Br=4.15 kG and bHc=2.40 kOe, have been obtained through the magnetic-field-free process by employing the optimum preparing condition of orientation stated above.
