Abstract :
This paper begins with a survey of amorphous magnetic alloy systems which are of interest for applications in electronics. Saturation, permeability, losses, shapes of the hysteresis loop, technological and elasto-magnetic properties are considered in comparison to crystalline alloys. The following applications are mainly discussed: 400 Hz transformers, inductive components for switched - mode power supplies, magnetic shieldings, elasto-magnetic transducers, magnetic heads, and magnetic springs. Basic possibilities and limitations are reviewed in an outlook.
