Abstract :
Sources of asymmetry in the isolated-pulse playback waveforms of inductive thin film heads recording on particulate disk media are studied analytically and empirically. The relative effects of these sources of asymmetry on the playback waveform are evaluated and compared both qualitatively and quantitatively.
