Abstract :
A formulation using two components of a magnetic vector potential for describing three-dimensional eddy current fields is presented. This results in two scalar unknowns for the conductors. Coupling with a single-scalar description for the nonconductors is straightforward. It has proved to be advantageous to introduce a further scalar unknown on the surface bounding the conductor. The method has been implemented in a finite-element code, and encouraging results have been obtained
