Abstract :
The transverse sound frequency doubling was investigated experimentally in orthoferrite (TmFeO3) in the spin reorientation region. The second harmonic signal u_{2\\omega } increases significantly when approaching the reorientation point and becomes comparable with the input signal uωof the primary wave. The experimental results can be described by a simple theory in the case u_{2\\omega }\\ll u_{\\omega } .
