Abstract :
Numerical analysis of single turn thin film magnetic heads with relatively large (4μ to 10μ) gaps has been carried out to determine the regions of permalloy saturation and its effect on the write field. Symmetrical and nonsymmetrical head geometries have been considered and their response to different pole thicknesses is discussed.
