Abstract :
Asymmetric, infinitely permeable recording heads are studied in two dimensions using complex variables and complex Fourier integrals. Asymmetric components of the pulse and frequency response are found for geometric asymmetries and vertical magnetization. Boundary integral methods are used to solve the potential problem. A new expression is obtained for the frequency response. It not only simplifies this portion of the analysis, but it also suggests a great reduction of the grid for any numerical approach.
