Abstract :
The observation of plasma sheath filamentation when the energy available becomes insufficient to fully ionize the gas swept during the sheath propagation is reported. At high pressure, when the plasma filamentation remains during the radial stage, the neutron yield drops as a consequence of an ineffective formation of the final pitch
