  • Abstract
    The MAGGY2 computer program has been applied to investigate a two-dimensional representation of the tape recording head system. For an isolated tape, the external flux is found to be proportional to the coercive force. For a head in intimate contact with the tape, the read signal is found to be proportional to (BH)\\min{\\max }\\max {1/2} . Work elsewhere leads to a more general result, which is briefly discussed.
