Abstract :
In this article the application of the finite element method to the calculation of the electromagnetic field in a system of N conductors has been described. The electromagnetic field over unlimited region outside the conductors was reduced to the calculation of surfaces of the conductors only. The finite elements were used only in spatial approximation of the electromagnetic field and the solution was then determined analytically. The calculation of the electro-magnetic field was reduced to the problem of defining eigenvalues and eigenvectore of a symmetrical matrix.
