  • Abstract
    A practical coupling technique between high-silica multimode channel waveguides and optical fibres has been demonstrated using guiding grooves formed simultaneously with waveguides on a substrate. The fibre-waveguide (15 mm long)-fibre insertion loss was 1.23 dB.
