Abstract :
Plots of the two cavity currents (I1, against I2) for constant output power provide a quick characterisation of two-section coupled-cavity lasers. Two possible circuits for creating such curves in near `real time¿ are proposed and demonstrated. Optimum bias points and modulation algorithms can be obtained therefrom.
