Abstract :
Some results concerning the analytical investigation of penetration of a plane electro-magnetic wave into a ferromagnetic conducting halfspace are reported. These results comprise linear and circular polarizations of incident wave and they take into account hysteresis properties of ferromagnetic media. For the case of the linear polarization of the incident wave, the approximate analytical solutions taking into consideration higher field harmonics are given. For the case of the circular polarization of the incident wave, the exact analytical solutions are presented; here an interesting effect appears. This effect is marked by the absence of higher harmonics of the electromagnetic field everywhere within the medium in spite of its nonlinear properties.
