Abstract
The width of the intercavity coupling gap between the sections of a coupled-cavity laser is important in determining laser performance. The effects of the gap width on spurious mode suppression, threshold currents, differential quantum efficiency and optimum ratios of drive currents are measured experimentally and compared with theoretical predictions.
