Abstract :
The magnetic separator equations are analysed and new analytical approximations to their solutions, describing the initial particle buildup, are found together with the appropriate boundary conditions for both types of the deterioration function G for any rational \\gamma \\geq 0 . Furthermore, a rapid numerical method for the solution of these equations is developed and applied to the simulation of the HGMS process.
