Abstract :
The proposed Electronic Industry Association standard for control of home appliances, the Consumer Electronic Bus (CEBus), is described. CEBus can be retrofitted into existing homes, will be usable with any electronic product, and will have distributed intelligence in each piece of equipment. It will provide control of all home electronics, from burglar alarms to washing machines.<>
