Abstract :
Three schemes of a posteriori error estimation are tested for their efficiency, and the strategy followed for each of the presented error estimation criteria is analyzed. Application to a test problem is presented so that a comparative study of the efficiency of each criterion can be given. The criteria are different in nature but provide an efficient error estimation. The complete algorithm of self-adaptive automatic mesh refinement is analyzed. The proposed strategies of self-adaptive mesh-generation proved successful, resulting in full automation during the analysis of electromagnetic devices. The process relieves the finite-element engineer/analyst of the burden of generating a valid tetrahedral mesh, since it produces the mesh completely automatically
