Abstract :
The Electromagnetic Design System (EDS), an expert system framework that integrates knowledge structures for representing design logic, structural models of devices, and their respective mathematical models, is considered. The focus is on the part of the system known as the algebraic constraint system, which manipulates the algebraic equations that constitute a large portion of the knowledge used to design a device
