Abstract :
Two types of scintillators are described based on polyorgano-polysiloxane carbosil block co-polymers for detectors of α- and β-radiation. It is shown that scintillators of the first type, obtained by casting of a 2-4% solution of carbosil (in toluene, etc.) comprising p-terphenyl and a spectrum shifting activator, have a conversion efficiency which, at a thickness of 0.1-0.5 mm, is 2.5 times higher than that of a standard polystyrene sample (for α-radiation). The second type, based on grinded crystals of p-terphenyl (size of particles 0.5-1 mm) in carbosil, have a scintillator efficiency 20% higher than that of anthracene single crystals
