Abstract :
Analogue video transmission over a tandem connection of optical fibre systems is examined. A simple mathematical model is presented which relates section length and fibre attenuation to route length and video SNR at the final receiver. The model takes account of any analogue modulation format and applies to direct and coherent detection.
