Abstract :
Numerical and analytical calculations show the phase of backscatter fields from thin perfectly conducting rods at constant distance from the scatterer to become essentially independent of aspect angle for rod lengths less than \\lambda /2 , to approach a limit near 180\\deg for shorter rods, and in broadside directions to depend only on rod thickness when rod lengths are an integral multiple of \\lambda .
