Abstract :
This short report is to inform readers of the status of activities involving the AFIPS History of Computing Committee, as of June 30, 1979. It is assumed that readers have seen the article that appeared in the first issue of the Annals (Vol. 2, No. 1, JULY-SEPTEMBER 1979), and so that material is certainly not being repeated here. In some ways, this report is a cumulative summary (by the committee chairman) of the results of the first year-and-a-half of AFIPS´s first broad-based work in the history of computing.
