Abstract :
The Graduate Record Examination, for many years an aid to graduate schools in the student admission and placement process, was augmented last year to include an advanced computer science test. Culminating a 4-year development effort, the new test was administered for the first time on October 16, 1976. Design of the overall scope and content of the test was carried out by a "Committee of Examiners," appointed in 1972 by the GRE Board.1 Beginning in 1977, the Advanced Computer Science Test will be annually updated by the Committee of Examiners and administered five times per year as a regular part of the GRE Program.
