  • Abstract
This third set of questions for the Self-Study Questions department was prepared to show some o f the other programming-language work going on at the same time as (or even preceding) FORTRAN, to which this issue of the Annals is devoted. There are also a few questions about some early computers that are not well known, but that nevertheless had an interesting role in the computer field. The basic description of this department´s intent and method of presenting material is given in the Annals, Volume 5, Number 3, July 1983, page 302. Readers are encouraged to send suggested questions (and their answers), as well as any comments or disagreements on previous answers, to the department editor (the address is on the masthead).
