Abstract :
A minicomputer-based surveillance system is unravelling traffic on the most heavily used section of the country´s busiest road–the 36-mile northern section of the New Jersey Turnpike from the vicinity of the George Washington Bridge to New Brunswick. This section accommodates a daily volume of 150,000 vehicles.
