Abstract
We have investigated the mechanical properties of a Sn-core processed Nb3 Sn filamentary superconductor. The observed strain dependence of the critical current density was as expected for more conventionally processed composites with similar niobium contents and filament diameters. Low cycle fatigue measurements revealed some shakedown behavior which diminished rapidly at higher stresses.
