A high performance 3.5 inch magneto-optical disk drive that allows MPEG 2 encoded motion picture real-time recording is developed and commercialized. The laser strobe magnetic over-lap recording method achieved 20 minutes long 4 Mb/s quality motion picture sinking into a 5×92×97 mm cartridge
