Abstract :
Expressions for the radiation fields at low frequencies of a vertical electric dipole situated on a horizontally stratified ground are derived. It is indicated that the well-known numerical results for the homogeneous ground can also be employed for ground wave propagation over a plane couductor composed of any number of parallel layers by suitably defining an "effective numerical distance."
