Abstract

A prototype of a portable digital still camera (DSC) using video CCD sensor has been developed. This system has auto focus and auto exposure control for an in-house designed zoom lens. It also performs auto white balance color temperature compensation. A DSP/ASIC was developed for color conversion, interpolation, and edge enhancement. The images are compressed with JPEG BCs, and then stored in a PCMCIA memory card. A color LCD panel was built for real time display and on board playback. The interface consists of SCSI, NTSC, and S-video connections
