Abstract :
The `time-reversed-impulse-response¿ method of phase equalisation is explained theoretically. Experimental results are presented, showing the impulse response of an analogue magnetic recorder before and after phase equalisation. The transversal-filter equaliser (32-tap analogue delay line of 320 ¿s length) is adjusted in the time domain so that actual phase-response measurements are not necessary.
