Abstract :
In order to study the concentration dependence of the electrical and magnetic properties of amorphous Fe-B-(AI,Ga) alloys, metallic glass ribbons of Fe80B20-xMx( 0 \\leq x \\leq 6 ) were prepared by rapid quenching from the melt using a melt spinning technique. The highest crystallization temperature, 520°C, and electrical resistivity, 215μ:Ωcm, were observed by DSC and the four-probe method, respectively. The maximum value of saturation magnetization was found 16.3 kG for Fe80B18Al2by a vibrating sample magnetometer. Stress-relief annealing with 10 Oe magnetic field increased the permeability of amorphous Fe80B18Al2alloy to 110,000. The core loss of amorphous Fe80B18Al2is rather low at low frequencies and only 50 W/kg at 10 kHz when the magnetic induction Bmis 10 kG.
