Abstract :
The principal factors governing the magnetization behavior of crystalline and amorphous metals and ferrites are reviewed. The typical values of the basic contributions to the magnetic anisotropies in amorphous alloys are given and compared with those of crystalline materials and ferrites. To analyse the behavior at higher frequencies the power losses and the permeability at pulse magnetization for the three groups of materials are regarded in detail. The different contributions to the losses, the decay of pulse permeability and the influence of anomalies due to induced anisotropies and to domain structure are discussed.
