Abstract :
The rotating-sample magnetometer has been used to follow the decay of field induced anisotropy at elevated temperature as a sample is rotated in a fixed field, and to follow the development of the induced anisotropy by interrupting the field anneal for room-temperature measurements. The two experiments were done on zero magnetostriction amorphous alloys of slightly different compositions. Crossover experiments have also been carried out. The results can be described by a log normal distribution of relaxation times for field annealing, and an average activation energy of 2 eV/atom.
