Abstract :
A planar extended Kalman filter for estimating frequency offset is presented. It extracts the frequency offset from the estimates of its sine and cosine components. Simulations show that this filter acquires more quickly than and tracks better in the steady state than a filter that estimates the frequency offset directly.
