Abstract :
This paper presents the steady state analysis of a six-pulse load-commutated cycloinverter employed for induction heating. Analytical expressions of the ratings of the circuit components are derived and presented graphically as a function of load and output frequency changes. Theoretical results are supplemented with experimental results. It is shown that the circuit operation with capacitive tank circuits results in lower device and component ratings.
