Abstract :
An algorithm employing the matrix continued fraction technique is proposed for the reduction of a high-order multiple-input multiple-output system, so as to achieve good approximation for both the transient and steady-state responses. The matrix formulation given here is new, and the method provides an additional tool for linear-system reduction. The procedure is amenable to digital computation.
