  • Abstract
    It is shown that, by incorporating a lateral shift for leaky rays into a more accurate expression for leaky-ray power attenuation, excellent agreement is obtained with exact numerical values of strongly leaky mode power attenuation on both slab and round waveguides with waveguide parameters as low as 10.
