Abstract :
Investigation of the patterning tolerance and the amplitude jitter cancellation properties of a 40 Gbit/s all-optical SOA-based 3R regenerator operating with a variable optical threshold is reported. Efficient suppression of up to 3 dB peak-to-peak amplitude jitter is demonstrated for the first time at 40 Gbit/s.
