مين دريايي مقداري ماده منفجره‌ است كه در محفظه‌‌‌‌اي قرار گرفته و به منظور انهدام يا ايجاد خسارت به شناورها طراحي و ساخته مي‌شود و به سبب آثار تخريبي روحي و رواني، تأثير به‌سزايي هم در منفي كردن توان رزمي دشمن دارد.. اين سلاح به‌علت عدم نياز به نيروي پرتابه به ‌مسافت دور، ارزان بودن (ارزش يك مين از چند صد دلار تا چند هزار دلاراست اما ارزش يك موشك يا اژدر از چند هزار دلار تا چند ميليون دلار مي‌باشد) و قابليت دسترسي آسان توسط كليه كشورها، حتي با بودجه نظامي نسبتاً پايين مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. هوشمندي، غافل‌گيري، تكرارناپذيري و تكيه بر تجهيزات بومي از اصول نبرد ناهمتراز به‌شمار مي‌روند و مين‌هاي ‌دريايي با ماهيت انفجاري و قابليت رها شدن از هواپيما، زيردريايي و شناورهاي سطحي با تنوّع تأثير (صوتي، فشاري، مغناطيسي و تركيبي) مي‌توانند از ابزارهاي اين نوع نبرد محسوب گردند.اين مقاله كه با روش توصيفي و تحليلي انجام مي شود به دنبال بررسي نقش مين در جنگ هاي نا برابر است.

Using descriptive and analytic methods, this article investigats the role of mines in asymmetricbattles.
