يكي از تكاليف عمده‌ انجمن آموزش كميته‌ي اخلاق نشر (Committee on Publication Ethics) با نشان اختصاري COPE كاهش رفتارهاي غيراخلاقي در نشر آثار علمي است. اين مقاله براي راهنمايي پژوهشگران جوان در حيطه‌ي نويسندگي فراهم آمده است؛ زيرا، يكي از پرچالش‌ترين حيطه‌هاي عملي نشر است. در ظاهر موضوع درج عنوان نويسندگي (Authorship) براي يك اثري علمي ساده به نظر مي‌رسد؛ امّا در عمل مشكل‌هاي خاصّ خود را دارد. هنگام آماده كردن اين راهنما موارد قابل توجهي از گزارشات مربوط به مشكلات از اين دست را مورد بررسي قرار داديم. برخي از مشكل‌هاي نويسندگان مورد مطالعه عبارت بود از: حذف نام پژوهشگرِ تازه كار و داراي شرايط نويسندگي از فهرست نام نويسندگان، اصرار سازمان حامي مالي پروژه‌ي تحقيقاتي بر درج نام شخصي كه در مطالعه مشاركت نداشته است و درج نام رئيس نويسنده‌‌ي مقاله‌ي مروري به جاي نويسنده حقيقي؛ چون، در زمان وصول نسخه‌ي نهايي مقاله، نويسنده‌ي حقيقي در مرخصي زايمان بوده است. در اين راهنما، نخست تعريف صريح از ارتكاب رفتار غير اخلاقي در درج نام نويسندگان بيان مي‌شود. سپس پيشنهادهايي در رابطه با چگونگي پرهيز از آن‌ها ارايه مي‌شود.

One of the major assignments of the Society for the Education of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) is the reduction of immoral behaviors in the publication of scientific works. This article is intended to guide young researchers in the field of writing, because, one of the most challenging areas of publication. In the appearance of the subject, insertion of the Authorship seems to be a simple science, but in practice it has its own problems. When preparing this guide, we reviewed a number of reports of similar problems. Some of the problems of the authors studied were: the removal of the name of the novice researcher and the authorship terms of the authors list, the sponsor organization's insistence on a research project to insert the name of the person who did not participate in the study, and insert the title of the author of the review article author instead True, since, at the time of the receipt of the final version of the article, he was a true writer on maternity leave.
