عرفا، براي تبيين مواجيد عرفاني خود واثبات آن‌ها از تمثيل استفاده مي‌كنند. در اين تحقيق پس از بررسي ويژگي‌هاي تمثيل وچگونگي كاربرد آن درتفهيم مطالب، مخصوصاً مطالب عرفاني، ابتدا مباحث مورد نظر نجم‌الدين رازي مطرح وسپس توضيح لازم در باره آن ادا و پس از آن، تبيين نجم الدين ذكرشده و سر انجام با آوردن نمونه‌هايي از تمثيلات نجم‌الدين رازي در مرصادالعباد، نقش تمثيل بخوبي نشان داده شده است.
