Entering the 40th Anniversary of the Iranian Revolution

انگار همين ديروز بود كه از تجريش پرچم ها و پلاكاردها را راه مي انداختيم. پارچه نوشته هايي كه شب قبل از آن در مسجد همت تجريش، توسط جوانان نوشته مي شد و بعد در كنار خياباني كه اكنون به نام دكتر شريعتي خوانده مي شود، در زير پل هاي جوي آب و يا در خانه برخي از همشهريان پنهان مي كرديم و بعد از گذشتن از صفوف ارتش و شهرباني به يكباره آنها را بلند ميكرديم و تظاهرات شكل مي گرفت. بعد هم يك ماشين گير مي آمد كه بالاي آن برويم و براي مردم شعارهاي خوشان را بدهيم و آنها هم پاسخ دهند. در چند تظاهرات هم بلندگو تهيه شد و ديگر هزاران هزار نفر يك شعار را تكرار مي كردند. خانم ها در جلو صف بودند و آقايان در پشت سر. چون چندبار حضور زنان باعث شده بود كه در برخورد ارتش با مردم تاخير صورت بگيرد و همين تاخير، راه بسته شده خيابان شريعتي را براي مردم باز مي كرد و سيل خروشان مردم به ادامه دادن راه خود مصمم تر مي شد. ديگر هيچگاه پس از تظاهرات متعدد قبل از انقلاب، من نتوانستم تمام مسير تجريش، خيابان دكتر شريعتي، خيايان انقلاب تا ميدان آزادي را پياده طي كنم و حالا به نظرم اين كار ناشدني است. شور و حال مردم در آن روزهاي قبل از انقلاب وصف ناشدني است.

Then there was a car that went over it and gave people their slogans and they also answered. In a few demonstrations، the speaker was made، and thousands more people repeated the slogan. The ladies were in front of the queue and the gentlemen behind. Because the women's presence had caused a delay in the military's encounter with the people، and the same delay، the closed Shari'ati street would open for the people and the flood of the people would continue to make their way more resolute. Never again، after many demonstrations before the revolution، I could not walk along the entire path of my street، Shariati Avenue، from the revolutionary moment to Azadi Square، and now، it seems to me، this is impossible. The passion of people in the days before the revolution is unthinkable.
