The Semantics of Negative-sounding Declarative Attributes of God in the Holy Qur’an from the Viewpoint of Fakhr al-Dīn Rāzī and ‘Allāma Ṭabāṭabā’ī

صفات خبري منفي نما از انواع صفاتي است كه در قرآن كريم براي خداوند به كار رفته است. به صورت مشخص كيد و مكر و خدعه، كبر و تكبر، جباريت، انتقام جويي، استهزاء و فراموشي را ميتوان از مهم‮ترين و بارزترين اين نوع صفات دانست. فخرالدين رازي و علامه طباطبايي با توجه دادن به اين حقيقت كه كاربرد معناي ظاهري و انسان محور اين صفات براي خداوند نادرست است، بر اساس معاني و استعمال هاي لغوي، اصول عقلاني و آيات محكم قرآن كريم در موضوع خداشناسي، به تبيين معناي قابل پذيرش اين صفات و چرايي اتصاف خداوند به آن ها پرداخته اند. ‬

The negative-sounding declarative attributes are one type of attributes that are employed in the Holy Qur’an for God. Evidently، such notions as trickery، cunning plot، magnanimity، compelling، vengeance، derision، and forgetting can be viewed as the most important and obvious of these attributes. Drawing attention to the fact that applying the apparent and human-centered meanings to these attributes for God is not appropriate، Fakhr al-Dīn Rāzī and ‘Allāma Ṭabāṭabā’ī have explained the acceptable meaning of these attributes and why God possesses these attributes on the basis of meanings، lexical functions، rational principles، and the Qur’an’s unequivocal verses on the subject of theosophy.
