هرمنوتيك به معني تأويل متن از قرن هفدهم مورد توجه برخي فلاسفه غربي قرار گرفت و در قرن بيستم با پديد آمدن هرمنوتيك مدرن دستاوردهاي آن به حوزۀ بسياري از علوم مانند الهيات، فلسفه، علوم اجتماعي و ادبيات راه يافت. بر خلاف هرمنوتيك كهن كه مؤلف محور است و هر متني را فقط داراي يك معني مي­داند هرمنوتيك مدرن مفسر محور و قائل به معاني متعدد براي يك متن واحد است. هر چند واژۀ هرمنوتيكاخيراً به عرصۀ ادبيات فارسي راه يافته است، اما به لحاظ مفهومي سابقه ­اي بسيار كهن در متون دارد. آثار صوفيه را بايد از آن دسته متوني دانست كه با نگاهي تأويل ­­­گرا به آيات و احاديث رويكردي هرمنوتيكي دارند. يكي از اين متون، مصباح الهدايۀ عزالدين محمود كاشاني، مهم ­ترين كتاب عرفاني قرن هشتم هجري است. كاشاني در اين اثر، بارها براي اثبات مقاصد عرفاني خود از آيات و احاديث بهره گرفته و آنها را بر مذاق متصوفه تأويل كرده است. در اين نوشتار نگارندگان بر آنند تا پس از تعريف هرمنوتيك و تقسيم ­بندي­ هاي آن، تأويل قرآن را با ذكر شواهد، در مصباح­ الهدايه مورد بررسي قرار دهند.

Hermeneutic, or texts interpretation, has received attention by the western philosophers since the 17th century.In the 20th century, along with emerging the modern hermeneutic, its achievements entered upon the area of many sciences such as theology, philosophy, sociology, and literature. Unlike the old hermeneutic which is author-centered and accounts just one meaning for every single text, the modern hermeneutic is critic-centered and accounts multiple meanings for every single text.Although the term hermeneutic has lately entered into the Persian literature area,but conception ally it has a really long history in texts. The Sofia's works should be regarded as those texts which have a hermeneutical approach through the Quran's verses and Islamic anecdotes with an interpretative outlook. One of these texts is Ez-al-Din Mahmoud Kashani's Mesbah-al-Hedaya (The Guidance Light) which is the 8th century's most important Sofia book. At this work, Kashani several times used the Quran's verses and Islamic anecdotes to prove his Sufism intentions. He actually interpreted those verses and anecdotes according to Sofia's taste. At this paper, after defining hermeneutic and its classifications, the writers attempt to study the Quran's interpretation in Mesbah-al-Hedaya (The Guidance Light) with mentioning the evide.
