هدف تحقيق؛ بررسي اثرات برنامه‌هاي تلويزيوني بر توسعه پايدار فرهنگي زنان روستايي دهستان كيار غربي مي‌باشد. پژوهش بلحاظ ماهيت كاربردي و بلحاظ روش توصيفي- تحليلي مي‌باشد. جامعه آماري شامل زنان روستايي بالاي 15 سال دهستان كيارغربي شهرستان كيار در استان چهارمحال و بختياري مي‌باشد. جامعه نمونه با استفاده از فرمول كوكران 359 نفر انتخاب گرديد. ابزار پژوهش پرسشنامه محقق‌ساخته است كه روايي آن توسط كارشناسان دانشگاهي تأييد شد. ضريب آلفاي كرونباخ نيز بيش از 0.7 محاسبه شد. پايايي پرسشنامه، از طريق مطالعه راهنما به تعداد 30 پرسشنامه انجام شد. تجزيه و تحليل داده‌ها با استفاده از تكنيك رياضي WSA، و آزمون‌هاي آماري در محيط SPSS انجام شد. نتايج نشان داد علي‌رغم اينكه زنان روستايي دهستان كيار غربي بطور متوسط روزانه بيش از 4 ساعت؛ تلويزيون تماشا مي‌كنند تأثير برنامه‌هاي مذكور بر توسعه پايدار فرهنگي زنان روستايي (با مقدار 9/2)، در حد متوسط بوده است. تأثير رسانه‌ها در سه شاخص بهبود فرهنگ استفاده از كالاها و اماكن فرهنگي، بهبود نظام مهارت و بهبود نظام توانايي مثبت بوده ولي در سه شاخص بهبود نظام دانايي، حفظ و تقويت هويت فرهنگي و افزايش سرمايه اجتماعي در وضعيت مساعد قرار ندارد. لذا اصلاح برنامه‌هاي تلويزيوني بويژه در راستاي ارتقاي اين سه شاخص ضروري است.
