زمينه و هدف: حكيم ابوالقاسم فردوسي توسي، بزرگ‌ترين حماسه‌سراي تاريخ ادب پارسي است. شاهنامه فردوسي يكي از آثار فاخر جهاني است كه از بطن اشعار حماسي آن مي‌توان جنبه‌هاي مختلف علمي، اجتماعي و تاريخي را بيرون كشيد و مورد بررسي قرار داد. يكي از موارد مهم علمي، دانش پزشكي است كه در داستان‌هاي حماسي نامه باستان به زيبايي و حكيمانه به تصوير درآمده‌اند. اين پژوهش بر آن است ديرينگي دانش پزشكي و تخصص‌هاي مربوط به آن را در اشعار شاهنامه فردوسي به ويژه داستان زاده‌شدن «رستم» پهلوان اسطوره‌اي ايراني كه به شيوه «كارد پزشكي» (عمل رستم‌زاد) متولد شده است را واكاوي كند. مواد و روش‌ها: پژوهش يادشده در صدد بيان شكوه و قدمت تاريخ پزشكي ايران باستان آن هم در موضوع مهمي مانند جراحي است كه به روش مطالعه و بررسي كتابخانه‌اي با تكيه بر منابع اصيل تاريخ پزشكي انجام گرفته است. يافته‌ها: شاهنامه يكي از بهترين منابع اصيل در اثبات قدمت تاريخ پزشكي ايران باستان است كه مورد غفلت قرار گرفته است. نتيجه‌گيري: اشعار فردوسي نشانِ پروردگي و پيشرفتگي و پرمايگي دانش پزشكي را دارد. داستان زادن «رستم» پهلوان اسطوره‌اي ايراني و شيوه جراحي در دوره باستان و اصطلاحات پزشكي كه حكيم در نظم آورده، نمونه‌اي از اوج دانش پزشكي ايرانيان است.

Background and Aim: Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi Tuassi is the greatest epic poet in the history of Persian literature. Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is one of the finest works of the world that various episodes of scientific, social, and historical aspects from the epic poems can be drawn from Shahnameh. One of the most important scientific issues is the medical knowledge that has been beautifully and wisely depicted in the epic stories and one of the ancient letters in this epic. The purpose of this research is to display and analyze the lateness of medical knowledge and its related specialties, the poems of Shahnameh, especially the story of the birth of "Rostam", a mythical hero born in the method of "Medical Knife" (Rostam's Birth Operation). Materials and Methods: This research seeks to express the glory of ancient Iranian medicine as an important issue, such as surgery, which is based on a library study method based on the original sources of medical history. Findings: Shahnameh is one of the best sources of authenticity in the ancient history of ancient medicine, which has been neglected. Conclusion: Ferdowsi's poems have the prominence and promise of medical knowledge. The story of the birth of "Rostam", the Iranian mythological hero with the method of surgery in ancient times and the medical terms that Ferdowsi has arranged, is an example of the culmination of Iranian medicine.
