Relationship of social variables with oral health of students

زمينه و هدف: بهداشت دهان و دندان از شاخه هاي مهم بهداشت عمومي است كه در سلامت افراد تاثير بسزايي دارد و پايه و اساس سلامت و رفاه بدن بوده و روي كيفيت زندگي و شرايط عمومي بدن اثر مي گذارد اين مطالعه با هدف بررسي وضعيت سلامت دهان و دندان دانش آموزان دختر پايه پنجم ابتدايي شهر تهران و ارتباط آن با تحصيلات والدين صورت گرفت. مواد و روش ها: در اين مطالعه توصيفي تحليلي 416 دانش آموز در سال تحصيلي 96-95 با استفاده از روش نمونه گيري خوشه اي سيستماتيك از لحاظ سلامت دهان و دندان مورد بررسي قرار گرفتند. ابزار جمع آوري داده ها پرسشنامه محقق ساخته اي بود كه روايي و پايايي آن تاييد شد. داده ها با استفاده از نرم افزار spss نسخه مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفت. يافته ها: ميانگين سني افراد مورد مطالعه 0/62 ± 88، 10 سال ميانگين رتبه تولد 0/98 ± 1/73، ميانگين بعد خانوار 1/01± 4/09 سطح تحصيلات اكثر مادران (43/5%) و اكثر پدران (41/8%) ديپلم بود، مهمترين منبع كسب اطلاعات دانش آموزان در خصوص بهداشت دهان و دندان به ترتيب معلمين، مربيان بهداشت، وسايل كمك آموزشي در مدرسه، والدين و ساير موارد بود. ميانگين امتياز آگاهي و عملكرد دانش آموزان در زمينه مراقبت دهان و دندان در حد متوسط و به درصد به ترتيب 41.21±22.30 , 53.33±19.6 بود. تحصيلات والدين با عملكرد p<0.01 و آگاهي p<0.05 دختران دانش آموز ارتباط معناداري داشت درآمد خانوار با عملكرد مرتبط بود p<0.01 ولي با آگاهي ارتباط معناداري نداشت p<0.01 نتيجه گيري: آگاهي و عملكرد، متوسطي در ميان دانش آموزان دختر پنجم ابتدايي شهر تهران نسبت به بهداشت دهان و دندان مشاهده شد كه با افزايش تحصيلات والدين ميزان آگاهي و عملكرد دانش آموزان افزايش مي يافت. از آنجايي كه دانش آموزان مهم ترين منبع كسب اطلاعات خود را معلمين و مربيان بهداشت ذكر كردند، به نظر مي رسد با آموزش از اين طريق به نتايج مثبتي بتوان دست يافت.

Background: Oral health is one of the most important branches of public health, which has significant impact on the people health. Also it is a cornerstone for body health and well-being, considering quality of life and living conditions. This study has been done with the aim of oral health status survey among Tehran 5th grade female students and its relationship with parental education. Materials and methods: In this analytic description study, students 416 in the academic year of 2016-2017 were assessed by systematic cluster sampling method in terms of oral health status. The data collection tool was a self-made questionnaire, the validity and reliability of which was confirmed. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software version 21. Results: The mean age of the participants was 10.88 ± 0.62 years, Average birth Rank 1.73 ± 0.98, mean family dimension was 4.09±1.01, education level of mothers (43.5%) and fathers (41.8%) were mostly diploma. The main sources of oral health information in students were teachers, health educators, educational aids in schools, parents and other cases. Average awareness rate and the performance of students in the field of oral care was moderate their percentages respectively were, 41.21±22.30, 53.33±19.6. Parent education with performance (p>0.01) and awareness (p>0.05) had significant relationship. Household income had relationship with performance (p>0.01), but there was no significant relationship with knowledge (p>0.05). Conclusion: The level of oral health knowledge and practice were moderate among 5th grade female students in Tehran primary schools. With increasing participants parental education level, the healthy awareness and practice were improved. As according to the survey most important resources for the information are teachers and Health trainers, it seems that with improving the, positive results will be achieved.
